Helen is an Australian physician, author, and anti-nuclear advocate. She founded several associations dedicated to opposing the use of nuclear power, depleted uranium munitions, nuclear weapons, nuclear weapons proliferation, and military action in general.

Helen is well known in the Northern Rivers and was instrumental in shifting the changing voter base away from the conservative Nationals to the Greens in the 1990's.
